VSU Hosts 1st Computing Research Colloquium

The 1st Computing Research Colloquium, which was hosted by the Faculty of Computing, gathered bright and aspiring individuals from every campus. The activity was held from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at RDE Hall and was an exploration of the future of computing and innovation.

Notable guest speakers offered valuable insights towards preparing the next generation of professionals. The topics discussed ranged from the transition from academic settings to real-world industry interaction, the ethical implications related to the growth of generative AI, the analysis of patentability with respect to technological development, and so on.

The event also showcased particular research works of BSCS and BSIT students that exhibited the depth and breadth of the computing subjects.

The colloquium instilled in participants the knowledge, awareness, and adaptability needed to navigate the modern, fast-paced digital landscape. In a world of rapid change, only innovation can transform uncertainty into opportunity.

As the computing field keeps developing, this event was a milestone, providing young people with an experience of the numerous opportunities that the computing sector has to offer, as well as equipping young and emerging professionals not only to endure change but to also influence it.
