
Stakeholders’ Meeting Highlights VSU-Isabel REI Agenda
On 5 June 2025, Visayas State University – Isabel Research, Extension, and Innovation (REI) Office conducted a stakeholders’ meeting to submit the REI Agenda relevant to each department. The meeting served as a platform for the departments to present their respective agendas to the invited stakeholders.
The meeting invitees were Engr. Rodrigo M. Patricio, PASAR Community Relations Officer (COMREL); Mrs. Jacqueline Suson representing the LGU-MNAO; Mr. John Carlo C. Trinidad, representing the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI); Ms. Judy Ann T. Bregildo, representing PEMC; and Mr. Nikko Jhon C. Evangelista, an alumnus of VSU-Isabel, together with the parents and students.
Engr. Morales, Director for Research, Extension and Innovation Office expressed her sincere gratitude for having taken the time to engage in the stakeholders‘ meeting, especially singling out the invited guests from various sectors. She emphasized the importance of the event as a venue for meaningful discussion and cooperation between the university and its stakeholders.

To explain the relevance of the meeting, Mr. Nolan Federico T. Monserate, former Director of the REI Office and Head of Research explained to the stakeholders the 10-Point Agenda of Visayas State University.He also presented the 36 REI Agenda items crafted within the seven VSU-Isabel departments. The agenda items underwent thorough review, analysis, and categorization into five major thematic areas to effect clearer direction and to ensure consistency in the university‘s research, extension, and innovation activities. The thematic sought to determine priority areas where efforts could be aligned and better collaboration done between departments as well as with external partners.

All the presenters from the different departments submitted their respective REI Agendas, which were also aligned with both VSU-Isabel’s REI Agenda and VSU‘s 10-Point Agenda. Furthermore, Engineer Rodrigo M. Patricio, PASAR Corporation Community Relations Officer, expressed his gratitude for the presentations and expressed his interest in potential partnership with VSU-Isabel. He asked for details as to how the university can assist their corporation, particularly through conducting training sessions and seminars on how to further develop the skills of their employees in preparing documents and papers required by the company. He also asked for the procedures to formalize a partnership agreement with VSU-Isabel.
The Stakeholders’ Meeting was officially closed by Mrs. Lecil N. Managbanag expressing her sincere gratitude to all the participants, especially the invited stakeholders for their time and for showing interest in the REI Agendas of the various departments of VSU-Isabel.

The Stakeholders‘ Meeting organized by the Research, Extension, and Innovation (REI) Office of VSU-Isabel was a successful activity in highlighting the university‘s commitment to advancing relevant, responsive, and collaborative activities through the presentation of department-specific REI Agendas in conformity with the institutional 10-Point Agenda. The activity served as a primary forum for consultation and partnership building, as stakeholders expressed appreciation and interest towards potential partnerships. Their presence and proposals highlighted the need to advance linkages between the university and external communities. As VSU-Isabel moves forward, it continues to strive to advance research, extension, and innovation activities that address real societal concerns and advance sustainable community and national development.
