Training on Pinggang Pinoy and Meal Planning

Training on Pinggang Pinoy and Meal Planning

The Office of the Director for Research, Extension, and Innovation (ODREI) successfully implemented the Training on Pinggang Pinoy and Meal Planning on December 4–5, 2025, held at the KOICA Conference Room, Visayas State University–Tolosa Campus.

The activity aimed to enhance participants’ understanding of nutrition concepts, specifically the application of the Pinggang Pinoy food guide and the development of practical and health-promoting meal plans. Through interactive discussions and guided exercises, participants learned how to apply these principles to daily meal preparation and community-level nutrition advocacy.

A meaningful discussion took place during the Training on Pinggang Pinoy and Meal Planning, where participants learned about the 3-year comparative nutrition trend in Eastern Visayas. The session provided valuable insights into the nutritional status of children aged 0–59 months, including key indicators such as stunting, wasting, underweight prevalence, and the growing concern on overweight and obesity.

This learning exchange helped participants understand current nutrition challenges and the importance of evidence-based planning for healthier communities.
